Language Learning Series for Spring 2013 Workshop CANCELED

Associate Professor John Norris, Georgetown University
February 8, 2013 - 10:00am to 11:00am
Lab Sciences 201

Associate Professor of Linguistics Georgetown University will lead workshop entitled: "Linking assessments to actions: Moving from doing to using assessment."

Summary: In this workshop, participants will learn to apply a use-oriented framework to analyze and understand their (and their program’s) assessment needs, and they will explore ways of maximizing the utility of assessment practices (especially student learning outcomes assessment). Building from an understanding of the diverse uses for assessment, participants will then consider how to articulate available assessment methods to their needs (and in light of contextual constraints), and they will discuss the characteristics of assessments that make them more or less appropriate for use.
