Songs, games, skits, videos, chats, and debates provide a rich cultural context for the themes of the course, including identity, self, and family; school and university life; French cafe culture; and travel. Interactive web-based practice at home helps students prepare to apply their knowledge in the classroom. By the end of the semester, students are able to present on real or imaginary journeys in French-speaking countries.
