
Amanda Carey earned her MA in Spanish Linguistics from Arizona State University. Her areas of specialization are second language teaching and learning as well as translation.
She has been teaching in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures since 2001. Since joining the Department, she has taught beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish grammar and conversation classes. She also created and currently teaches online Spanish courses for the University College division of the University. Previously, she served as Co-Coordinator for the community service programs offered through Washington University and Acción Social Comunitaria. She also served as the Course Coordinator of Intermediate Spanish 201. Currently, she is the Coordinator of Advanced Spanish Grammar & Composition (307) and also serves as a Major Advisor.
