Elena Dalla Torre has teaching and research expertise in Italian and French Studies, and has published several articles on 1970s radical feminism, masculinity, and the politics of desire in the works of Italian gay theorist Mario Mieli.
In 1999, Dr. Dalla Torre was Assistante d'italien in Southern France. Before joining RLL, she was at Saint Louis University where she also taught for the Women's and Gender Studies Department. Her classes include all levels of Italian and French language, and special topics on Immigration and Black Italy, Sex in Italian Culture and Media, French and Francophone Coming of Age Cinema, Introduction to Sexuality Studies, and Transnational Feminisms
A native of Italy, Elena Dalla Torre is fluent in both French and Spanish and she is passionate about Spanish-speaking cultures.
