    Karla Aguilar is a scholar of Contemporary Caribbean literatures and cultures with a focus on the intersection between witchcraft, practices of remembrance and labor studies.  
    She is currently a PhD Candidate in Hispanic Studies in the Department of Romance Languages at Washington University in St. Louis with a certificate in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. She taught all levels of Spanish language and has designed the syllabus of two courses: “Latin America Literatures and Cultures” and “Graphic Latin America” She has published in Revista Perífrasis and is part of the Hypermedia anthology Isla Diseminada. Currently she is the museum education intern in the Kemper Art Museum.
