Research Groups

The department is home to research groups for both faculty and graduate students. These groups gather scholars from various departments who share a common interest in a historical period (the Enlightenment) or a subject (cinema). The groups meet regularly, often to discuss the work in progress of their members.

The research groups include:

  • The Eighteenth-Century Interdisciplinary Salon
  • The Francophone Faculty Group
  • Graduate Student Groups

RLL faculty and graduate students are also co-conveners of the following reading groups sponsored by the Center for the Humanities:

  • Medieval Clerical Culture
  • Transatlantic Crossings

  • Interdisciplinary Film
  • 18th Century Salon
  • Francophone Faculty Group
  • Transatlantic Crossings Reading Group
