Iberian Literatures & Cultures

Our faculty in Iberian Studies conduct research in all areas and time periods of Iberian Culture and Literature. We have specialists that contribute to the most recent developments in our understanding of the Medieval and Early Modern periods in the peninsula and those that explore contemporary cultural expression and production in nineteenth- through twenty-first-century Spain. We are particularly strong in the studies of race and gender identities, oral traditions in the Medieval period, the Inquisition, the Avant Garde and Migration.
