Special Event with Dr. Genevieve Cortinovis, Curator at the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM)

Step into the glamour, speed, and artistic revolution of interwar France!

On Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30 PM (Busch 100), the French Connexions franco-american center at WashU invites you to a special event on campus with Dr. Genevieve Cortinovis, curator at the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM).

Our guest will present the exhibition "Roaring: Art, Fashion, and the Automobile in France, 1918–1939", an extraordinary exhibition exploring how the automobile became a symbol of modernity, blending with fashion, architecture, and avant-garde art. Featuring over 100 stunning works, from paintings and photographs to haute couture and rare automobiles, this exhibition showcases the creative energy of figures like Sonia and Robert Delaunay, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Le Corbusier, and even Josephine Baker.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Lionel Cuillé (WashU).

A collaboration between the French connexions center, the St. Louis Art Museum (SLAM), and the Department of Art History and Archaeology
