Hope Hecht (she/her) is a PhD student in French Language and Literature at Washington University in St. Louis. Hope obtained her BA in Modern Languages and Cultures from Northern Arizona University in 2022. Afterwards, Hope went on to complete her MA in French at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2024.

At WashU Hope is starting her coursework and pursuing a certificate in Women and Gender Studies. Hope's current research revolves around the idea of the medieval body. She questions the role of gender hierarchy, marriage, and race in medieval courtly literature. After two years studying Arabic, Hope is interested in representations of the East in early premodern literature. Hope's book reviews appear in the Society and Culture section in The French Review.

When Hope is not on the Danforth campus, she is rock climbing, exploring local restaurants, and volunteering for the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA).
