Jose Carlos Salinas

Graduate Student, Spanish

Jose Carlos Salinas is a Peruvian fourth-year PhD student in Hispanic Studies. He is also taking the graduate certificate in Latin American Studies. He holds a BA in Literature and Linguistics from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (Arequipa). His main interests include literary and cultural research in modern and postmodern subjectivities in Latin America’s literature, critique and cultural discourses. Jose has written articles and book chapters in those fields. He has also has been director of the XIV Jornadas Andinas de Literatura Latinoamericana de Estudiantes JALLA-E Arequipa 2013. 

He is currently working in Folklore and National Culture in Peru and Argentina (1920-1950).
