Silvia Ledesma Ortiz teaches Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition classes, and is always looking for ways to incorporate music and her Argentinian culture into her teaching.
A native of Argentina, Silvia Ledesma Ortiz earned her Master’s degree in Spanish from Saint Louis University as well as a Certificate in University Teaching Skills. As a graduate student, she focused her studies on Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition. She holds a B.A. from Webster University where she was awarded University and Departmental Honors for outstanding academic achievement.
Before joining the Romance Languages and Literatures Department at Washington University, she taught language classes as an adjunct at Saint Louis University and was a music teacher at various schools in Argentina as well as in the United States. She teaches Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition classes, and is always looking for ways to incorporate music and her Argentinian culture into her teaching. Currently, she serves as Coordinator of Spanish 102.
