Victor Putinier (he/him) is a PhD candidate in French and Francophone Studies and Film and Media Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. In his dissertation, tentatively titled “Les poètes du documentaire:” Poetic and Documentary Networks in France from 1945 to 1968, he examines the interactions between poetic and documentary practices and their aesthetic, intellectual and institutional impact in post-World War II France. His work on poetry appeared in the Journal of Medieval and Humanistic Studies.
His research interests include poetics and poetry, nonfiction cinema, “courts métrages,” experimental artistic productions, disability studies, and popular education.
Outside of the classroom, he enjoys watching Hong Kong action movies, scrolling Wikipedia, and listening to Bluegrass.
