Francophone Week 2021- Film screening of Atlantique

Join us for a film viewing party of Atlantique followed by Q&A with Professor Imane Tehrmina, Cornell University.

Francophone Week includes a group viewing of Atlantique hosted with Teleparty at 3pm CST followed by a Q&A with Professor Imane Tehrmina, Cornell University at 5pm CST. The film is available via Netflix and more details will be posted on the Semaine de la Francophonie site.   Atlantique is a 2019 film by Mati Diop about the lives of construction workers in Dakar who after working for months without pay, decide to leave the country. The drama is centered around a young woman, Ada, and her partner Soulemain and their struggles with unemployment, migration, remorse and lost. It is Diop's feature directorial debut.
