Francophone Week 2021 Poetry reading with Baba Badji

Baba Badji is a Senegalese-American poet, translator, researcher, a Chancellor's Fellow, and PhD candidate in Comparative Literature and a Graduate Certificate in Translation Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

Francophone Week includes a poetry reading with Baba Badji, PhD Candidate in Comparative Literature here at WashU.  His latest work, Ghost Letters is a book-length lyric sequence published with Parlor Press. It explores the intimacy of private experience while focusing on the personal awareness of belonging. In ruptured storylines, it investigates networks of people in different registers across mortalities, Blackness, experiences of violence and hospitality, exile, history, and African myth. The reading will be primarily conducted in English via Zoom.
