Marisa Barragán-Peugnet's area of specialization is Peninsular and Latin American literature. She is currently the coordinator of placement for Spanish, and a Spanish lecturer.
Classes taught include Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition classes; Intermediate Spanish Conversation and Culture, as well as Spanish Oral Communication I and II. In addition, she has served as Summer Coordinator of Placement for Spanish, Assistant Coordinator of Intermediate Spanish Grammar and Composition, Coordinator of Intermediate Spanish Conversation and Culture, Coordinator of both Oral Communications I and II, Coordinator of the Elementary Sequence of Spanish 101 and 102, a liaison for the Washington University Program La Casa Española, assisted with tutoring to business employees going abroad, and a supervisor assistant for the Washington University volunteer tutoring/ mentoring program Acción Social Communitaria that serves Hispanic youths in the St. Louis Community.
