Rebeca Fromm Ayoroa's major area of research and teaching interest is twentieth-century Latin American literature and intellectual history, with an emphasis on Argentina and the Hispanic Caribbean.
Rebeca Fromm Ayoroa is currently completing her doctoral dissertation, under the supervision of Prof. Ricardo Piglia. Her work reconstructs theoretically and historically the initial reception of Walter Benjamin’s oeuvre in Latin America during the 1960s and 1970s.
Before coming to Washington University, Rebeca taught beginning, intermediate and advanced Spanish language courses, and was the preceptor in a course on Jorge Luis Borges’s work taught by Ricardo Piglia. Currently, she serves as Coordinator of Advanced Conversation and Grammar 307.
