Erika Conti joined the department in 2012 after completing her Ph.D. at Wash U in Comparative Literature. She teaches beginning to advanced Italian language and literature courses in both the College of Arts & Sciences and University College. She will teach a new course, Italian 3222 Fascism and Resistance: Past and Present, in Fall 2019. Her area of specialization is the Italian literature of the 20th century, in particular personal narratives and collective memories of Fascism and World War II.
Rebeca Fromm Ayoroa has been a lecturer in Spanish since 2012 as well, having previously taught and studied at Princeton University. Her major area of research and teaching interest is 20th-century Latin American literature and intellectual history, with an emphasis on Argentina and the Hispanic Caribbean. Fromm Ayoroa teaches intermediate and advanced Spanish languages courses, as well as literature and culture courses.
Vincent Jouane specializes in 20th-century French and Francophone literature as well as French cinema. He teaches intermediate and advanced French courses and directs the French Summer Language Institute Program in Paris. Jouane joined RLL in 2013, after receiving his Ph.D. from our department in 2012.
