Shirley Anghel is a Ph.D. Candidate in Hispanic Studies. She specializes in modern Spanish literature and culture. Her dissertation examines how Spanish writers depicted the conflicts and tensions involved in secularizing Spain during the Second Republic (1931-1939).
During 2020-2021, she will be the Editorial Assistant for the Revista de Estudios Hispánicos. Prior to interning with the Revista, she taught all levels of Spanish language at Wash U. She holds an M.A. from Dartmouth College.
