    Vincent Jouane's area of specialization includes 20th-century French and Francophone literature as well as French cinema.

    A native of France, Vincent Jouane earned his Master’s degree in English literature from Toulouse/Le Mirail University before moving to the United States in 1999. His dissertation, titled La Littérature des Enfants de Harkis: Mémoire et Réconciliation, focuses on a corpus of autobiographies and novels produced since 2002 by children of harkis (Algerian civilians who fought on the French side during the Algerian War).

    Jouane currently teaches intermediate and advanced French courses in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, including FR.214 "Medical French" and FR.321 "Sports and Society". He is also the Director of the Summer Language Institute in France (SLIF) and the Chair of the RLL DEI Committee.
